The Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) might become the first political force in case less than 25% of the voters go to the ballots for European Parliament. This is seen at the latest survey of polling agency MBMD, held two weeks prior to the European election. Sociologist Miroslava Radeva, though, expects by far higher attendance, of some 35%. If so, five Bulgarian political parties will send representatives in Brussels. Those are Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (CEDB) with 5 or 6 seats; Coalition for Bulgaria (CB) with 4-5 seats, MRF – 3-4 seats, Attack with 1 or 2 seats, and the Blue Coalition, with 1 seat. According to polling agency Sova Harris, the party of Sofia Mayor Boyko Borissov (CEDB) is to win 6 MP seats in Brussels, the Socialists – 5, Dogan’s ethnically Turkish party – 2, the nationalists from Attack – 2, the rightists – 1, and the reserve 17th seat in case the EU member states adopt the Lisbon Agreement, will fall to CEDB or the Blue Coalition.
