Political Scientists, Sociologists Predict Dictatorship Due to New Election Rules

The election of 31 majority elected MPs for the next 41st National Assembly directly violates the Constitution due to different weights of votes in Bulgaria’s different regions. Coalition for Free and Democratic Elections wants an agreement signed between civic organizations and the media for securing the most transparent and honest environment possible for the forthcoming general election. People do not understand the amendments to the laws done and approve of the 8% barrier for coalitions because they do not want a fragmented parliament, sociologist Mira Radeva thinks.
