Parliamentary Majority Rejects Discrimination Protection Commission’s Report Too
MRF and the left pointed out the majority’s aim was to replace the staff of the body and stated such an institution is necessary and established in line with European requirements
Ventzy Mihailov | 22.10.2009 15:29After almost two-day discussions, with 53 votes “pro”, 83 “con” and 44 “abstained”, CEDB and Attack did not approve of the annual report of the Commission for Protection Against Discrimination. MPs from BSP and MRF only voted in support of the document, Attack voted all against its approval, and the representatives of CEDB, the Blue Coalition, and OLJ divided in positions, as some abstained from voting, and others voted con. Unfortunately, the MPs lost two days of parliamentary time not on discussing the essence of the work of the Commission, chaired by Kemal Eyup from MRF – the major accent of the debates seemed to rather fall on MRF’s policy in ethnically mixed regions
